Frequently Asked Questions

Typical questions we get from our landscaping customers here in Austin, Texas.

What is landscape design?

Landscape design is the process of determining what a landscape should be. These decisions include factors for aesthetics as well as functionality. Examples of things a landscape designer might consider:

What kinds of plants should we select? What are the drainage paths? Should we include fire features? Where will the home owner and their guests relax or dine?

What is landscape construction?

Landscape construction is the process of bringing your landscape design to life, starting with initial site preparation, including demolition and clearing. It involves careful leveling and grading for optimal water management, as well as removing excess dirt and debris. Key stages include installing efficient drainage and irrigation systems, followed by the careful placement of turf, landscape beds, and trees as per the design plan. This phase ensures that every element of the landscape is built for sustainability, functionality, and lasting beauty.

Does Structure Landscapes offer ongoing maintenance after the landscape construction is complete?

While Structure Landscapes doesn’t provide routine “mow-n-blow” services, we excel in reviving landscapes in need of some TLC. Our revitalization efforts can range from adding new beds and installing landscape lighting to planting fresh, colorful flora, all aimed at refreshing and enhancing the beauty of your outdoor space.

What parts of Texas do you service?

How much does your average project cost?

All of our pricing is custom, based on the size of the property and the complexity of the landscape we’re designing. Our minimum project size is $30,000, with most projects falling in the $50K -$80K range.

What if I don’t know exactly what I want my landscape to look like?

That’s perfectly fine – in fact, it gives us a chance to be creative! Our designers will ask you some basic questions to get a sense of your likes and dislikes, and we’ll use that to pitch a design concept to you. Our clients find this process to be a lot of fun – and we think you will too!

How long will my landscape project take?

The duration of your landscape project depends on its scope and complexity. Design projects typically range from 2 to 5 weeks, varying with the size and intricacies involved. For construction projects, the timeline can span from 2 weeks to 2 months, depending on the project’s scale, with a fully loaded crew and the appropriate equipment ensuring efficiency and quality.
